3. Petition
- The third step in the Chapter 7 bankruptcy process is for our office to prepare your bankruptcy petition.
- Here's what we do - we take the documents you've given us and use them to create a document called the "Bankruptcy Petition." It is a very precise process, requiring all of the data to go in exactly the right place, based upon your personal financial situation.
- When our Legal Assistants are preparing the petition for your bankruptcy, they may call you with questions they have that the documents do not answer. Or, they may need you to provide additional documents. Please work with them to get the additional documents into our office as quickly as possible. This will help speed your bankruptcy on its way.
- Once the petition is completed, the fourth step in the process is the Signing.
