7. Discharge
- The "Discharge" is the end point in your bankruptcy and the beginning of the rest of your life. It's when the court states that all of your debts that can be discharged have now, in fact, been discharged.
- Please remember that certain debts are non-dischargeable in bankruptcy, including student loans, child support, spousal support, property settlement agreements, and most taxes.
- Nonetheless, when my clients' debts are discharged at the end of their bankruptcy, they normally breathe a huge sigh of relief and feel like a great weight has been lifted off their shoulders. They look forward to starting off fresh, happy to begin life anew.
